Artist's Comments

Apart from Warhammer, I have been working with other fantasy clients, one of such is Paiso Publishing. I was fortunate to be able to be part of the team that delivered artworks for "Path Finder".

I immediately jumped at this piece cause of the description, "Rain of Blades". Being influenced from Hong Kong comic since young, drawing a million swords from one guy's moves has been something I had always wanted to try. So here goes... :D

Used the palette knife brush from before to generate the sense of motion of the piece, do hope you guys enjoy it.

Cheers.

this is marvellous, i love the idea of the power of summoning a hale of sharpened iron from the heavens. Although...

hmmm, not that i can say much to someone at you're level of prowess, although if i was to critique it, i would say that you could of generated more epic scene, i would suggest a lower camera angle if possible, closer towards his feet, more of the sky so that you can see the multitude of swords raining from the heavens. I would also suggest a bit more motion in the falling swords, maybe you could use more vertical strokes for the finger guards, or even a varied general motion blur, probable reference from photographs taken at a low shutter speed, you know that blurred ghostly visage that appears behind and sometimes in front of a directional object? Although i might be interpreting you're aim of the "sense of motion" incorrectly. :hmm:

I apologise if i meant any offence.

That's exactly what I was going to say. It's great as it is, but the piece could still be tweaked to convey an even more dynamic scene.

"well the future can be scary, but luckily we're always stuck in the present. So it can't be too scary right?"
